I couldn't have said it better myself. That lens has quickly become my
mainstay. 2/3 (or more) of all the film I shoot is through a Tamron
80-200/2.8 and I truly appreceate the advice I received here that led me
to getting one. I like the Tamron SP 80-200/2.8 so much that I keep my
eyes open for a deal on a second one to have as a spare. Sometimes they
go pretty cheap. I got mine for ~$300.00 with a foggy 2X converter which
I sold off on ebay as-is. Of all the areas lacking in the Zuiko lineup,
the fast std. range zoom (aka 70 or 80 to 200 or 210) is clearly the
most lacking but the Tamron 80-200/2.8 fills the void quite nicely. I
now carry just 2 bodies, 3 lenses, 3 converters, and oh yeah...an
IS-2...everything else is left at home or in the car.
