Yea, yea, I'm a baaaaad boy. I know. The Leica guys tell me the same thing
when I put non-Leica glass on my M's.
But hey, this adds insult to injury: I just checked Ebay, and a Tamron 180/2.5
in user condition sold last week for $330.33!
Oh, and I'll say 10 hail-maitani's and 5 our-father-zuiko's as my penance.

180/2.8's usually sell for $500-700 in normal condition. A little more for
"mint".
(I know this is a bit blasphemous, but...) If you want a more affordable
solution, you should consider a Tamron SP 180/25. I've had both lenses, and
I found that the low dispersion elements in the Tamron made for crisper
images than the Zuiko 180/2.8. And it's substantially cheaper. I see them
on Ebay for $400.
