Eric,
The mercury battery shortage (for the OM-1 and 1n) is not so much of
a problem. If you have Mr. Hermanson do a CLA, he will also modify the
camera to accept a silver cell. Another possibility to a battery
adaptor ... available from http://www.criscam.com/mr9b.htm that allows
you to use a common silver 76 battery ... which is what I use.
If you ever decide to do astrophotography the OM-1n is the only
way to go (and besides that, it's a beautiful work of art in itself).
