This is the method I used for the self-portrait. A couple of additional tips:
a. Shoot a blank frame (lens cap, 1/2000th, f/16) and wind film before and
after the double exposure to prevent any overlap with adjacent exposed frames.
b. For the multiple-exposure frame I also make an unexposed shot first
(lens cap, 1/2000th, f/16) and recock the shutter with the rewind button
depressed (steps 2-4 above). This tends to get any film movement that
might occur out of the way prior to making the first actual exposure.
Thus, for a double-exposure, I'm actually tripping the shutter three times
on the same frame.
c. Multiple exposures tend to be posed. I repeat the shoot three times if
at all possible, just to be sure.
