I finally got three photos posted at:
http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=80379&a=9434072
I also have taken fireworks shots with cityscapes on a single time
exposure. There is enough light from the city and the fireworks to make
the sky a color other than black. The buildings end up a combination of
silhouette from the light contamination, and lit up from the
fireworks. I'll try to post my attempts from July 4 tomorrow for you to
see what I mean.

Thanks for the suggestion. However I didn't mention that the guy in the
MODERN PHOTOGRAPHY article was suggesting the following: Pick a Skyline
scene and under expose it at twilight. This would allow a visible Cityscape
over which the later (in darkness) fireworks would be exposed in the same
frame. So, he has two different light levels and the Cityscape will be
exposed twice (thus the need for the film to remain unmoved) and the
fireworks once.
