That matches everything I've heard about Bogen/Manfrotto customer support
from other users (mine hasn't needed any parts or repairs). And I can vouch
for Slik's customer support. In an earlier post I reported no problems with
my Slik U212 Deluxe; then I remembered the panning action became very stiff
(some debris worked its way into the bearing mechanism, which isn't designed
for user-maintenance, unlike Manfrotto 'pods and heads) after the tripod was
out of warranty. They took care of it at no charge. In fact, the store I
bought it from shipped it free of charge.

...I had a set of legs that developed a crack
where the center post mounts and my local shop shipped them off to Bogen
who
promptly (6 weeks later) fixed it FOC.
