I thought about getting a shift lens for a long time, but settled on
a cheap alternative. I use a 6x6 camera with wide angle lens, shoot
horizontally, and crop out the top or bottom 1.5 cm. That, in effect, gives
me a 6x4.5 image that is shifted up or down. Perhaps the pros can tell me
if the effect is the same as a shift lens, but it works for me and
eliminates the distortion on architectural shots. (And the price for the
entire camera was much less)
