You are right, George. And at about the same price (B-1.7x might even
be slightly cheaper than the 2xA). Certainly worth trying more often.
I have tried this converter on the 90, but long ago and not very
often. The main reason for that is that the lens-to-subject minimum
distance of the combo is rather large (about 70cm), and it does not
allow for larger images than 1:4.
The 1.4XA between lens and camera lets you take 1:1.7 pictures (from a
much shorter distance, of course - about 25cm)
OTOH I am still amazed by the low performance of the 90 & 1.4xA combo
Gary tested. I have reached pretty good results with mine... which
makes me even more curious about my future tests with 90 & B-1.7x.
