A few months back (maybe a year...?) we had a thread on the 90/f2
macro to be used with the 2xA converter. I do this myself with good
results. Only modification needed: I had to tear off the small
protruding lens protector on the rear of the 90mm to avoid damage to
the 2xA. But the result, a quality 180/f4 macro, is just what I
needed...
I guess the price of a 135/4.5 + 65-116 + 1.4xA combo is slightly
higher than that of the 90/2 + 2xA. (rough estimate: $850 vs. $750)
And the latter, cheaper combination is much faster and also shorter!
Good, because it lacks a tripod mount ;-)
