The average price that I have on my page is $387.00 for the 300/4.5. Most
Ex+ and Mint- MC 300's seem to go for over $400 though. Anything of $400
or under seems like a fair deal.

I paid $400 for my late-model MC version, and I love the lens.
I'm thinking $400 is about right -- just a tad cheaper than Skip Williams'
eBay pricing history file.
I have no experience with the Tamron, but the Zuiko is a fine lens.
