:The newer auto-focus allows some lee-way. They will fire if subject is
:in focus or not. I beleive the term was called fuzzy-logic focus (for the
:newer auto focus) vs the zero on focus for the Olympus. Photographers
:would complain that they were missing there action shot because of the
:delay of the zero on focus. It didn't matter that perhaps that picture may
:have been out of focus , they wanted the camera to fire regardless to give
:them a sense of control.
Just for the record: the IS-3(000) also has this feature - the camera only fires
when the subject is in focus. Because of its more modern design and AF assist
light changes that it will actually succeed are _much_ higher than with the
35-70mm AF lens. The IS-30(0) even has *predictive autofocus* - it think it
knows where your moving victim will be at the time the shutter releases. Of
course, the IS-4000 and OM-5AF will also have this feature. Won't they, mother
Oly? ;)
