I can verify this as well. The first time it happened I thought my IS-3000 was
malfunctioning. After a little practise I learned a few tricks like holding the
camera
in the vertical position when focusing. I think this has to do with too few (or
too
many?) vertical lines in the image. It is not often that this happens though.
The main
weakness of the IS-3(000) AF system I think is it's inability to focus on
really fast
moving subjects like a jet aircraft in the air or a race car. By the time one
realize
that one should have used the power (manual) mode it is often too late. I think
this
is more of a question of being enough predictable, i.e. too know when you have
to use
Power focus etc... All too often your brain stops working when the really
interesting
subject(s) appears.
When will we see an IS-4(000) with the AF (and the flash) systems of the
IS-30(0)
Olympus?
