Hmmmm, I wouldn't recommend this procedure. I used a shade designed for a 28mm
on a 24/2.8 as I couldn't see any vignetting in the viewfinder, neither open nor
stopped down. Alas, on the slides I could!
I guess Doris' remark about filters is true as well. Especially in wide angles
they do make a lot of difference.
