Hello Kris.
Yes, the procedure you describe above will certainly work. Only for
safety I would wind the film 2 frames further than your last high
exposure number. Please realize that film is cheap, and pictures you
might loose by any mistakes are probably unreplaceable....
I often rewind films that are not completely shot, but if less than 10
frames (out of 36) remain I forget about them and have the film
developed rightaway. 1/3 film costs no more than $1, which is a loss
that can be overcome... (it is negative which I use)
