Just like to add my comments on the 35-70/3.5-4.5:
I won't bother on commenting the shaprness, has been covered by others
already.
As a zoom I think it performs quite well regarding flare in backlit
situations etc.
But it has a more than fair amount of barrel distorsion at the the 35mm
setting. In the Olympus FAQ it's listed as 0.45% which doesn't sound very
much, but in real life it is very pronounced, too much actually for my
taste.
As I've been annoyed by this for a time, I've been looking for a prime 35mm
and last week I ran into a mint 35/2.0 MC version in a Malmoe-store for 950
skr (about 120 US$), quite a bargain I think! I hope my horizons will be
straight from now on.
Does anybody (Gary S of Entertainment Capital?) care to compare sharpness of
this prime with the zooms? I haven't received my trannies yet.
