My salesman pointed out to me the cutting of the tab as an optional fix to
the shutter release lock when I seriously looked at the camera. He also
told me a device he would call "short cable release" or "trigger extender".
I did not like the idea of modifying a brand-new camera. I thought that I
might do just that after the one- year warranty will have expired if I
could not find a short cable release. I like my home-made short cable
release better because I don't have to make any modification to the camera.
