Lightroom does the autoalign really well. It's essentially just a
single click thing.
As to Moose's comment about the lack of apparent sharpness or
resolution? That has to do with the output settings. I used a slightly
different output setting that may not look as good on Moose's monitor
if it's upscaling on the display. I encounter that once in a while.
But the image is as sharp as necessary.
The single shot vs HDR stack that Moose mentioned is something I also
did. I've processed the image both ways. The high value is tough no
matter what because those are snow fields miles away with no visible
detail. If I try to keep the whites white but not solid, the shadow
recovery induces just enough noise in the lower values that I lose
some image crispness. However, it's all relative. Had I not shot the
HDR sequence, I would have survived very nicely just tweaking the
single shot.
