Ah, I could do that on my Canon 5000F flatbed. I've done 6x6, 6x9 and 4x5" and been happy with the results. The 5000F
is, of course, also a dinosaur.
What about the Epson flatbeds? As I recall, they make two models each of two different illumination cover sizes. No,
they won't match true film scanners like your Minoltas. OTOH, all but the latest films and unusual film flatness for 6
cm roll film won't exceed their abilities, I think.
I seem to recall that I concluded anything over 600 DPI was overkill for my old
MF stuff.
