tiny GM-5 pulled off a good shot with high DR. If could have gotten the SS
down to 1/500 would gain a stop of DR as avoids the e-shutter.
I never remember that. I know I paid no attention to shutter speed.
Stopping down a bit would have led to more diffraction.
I can't imagine f6.3, 7.1 or 8.0 wold have caused any trouble. It may be 9 mm, but the physical depth of the subject is
enormous, and the headland is mist softened.
Super high quality ND would do the trick but not very convenient and is OK as
is anyway.
I think that's the point. -1 EV held highlights fine and the shadows pulled up without trouble. Aesthetically, I don't
want them up any more. As it is, the tonal balance looks natural.
