And if that wasn't enough, yesterday evening a storm caused a Safeway
store in north central Phoenix to catch fire and burn to the ground. It was an
intense fire, and the firefighters went into a defensive posture.

It was first thought to have been the result of a lightning strike, but
the preliminary investigation shows that the likely cause was the roof
collapsing from a very heavy rainfall (microburst?), which then severed a gas
line, which ignited. Given the intensity of the fire and the totality of the
damage, this is much more likely.
