I have a sling bag that is convertible to a backpack, Mike: a Kata 3N1 (since
taken over by Manfrotto). I find that, despite its padded straps, my shoulder
starts to ache before too long. However, the Mindshift seems to have addressed
that snag with the extra wide strap.
