I am presently far away from my home with my Fujifilm camera bodies and various lenses but I am without a tripod. My
Manfrotto tripod is simply too heavy and bulky to have been contemplated as an additional baggage item.
Is there any advice regarding the availability of study and lightweight camera tripods which measure up to the
reliability of Manfrotto tripods? A tripod which extends to no less than three feet above round level would be ideal
providing that it can cater to uneven ground and has and adjustable height stem.
This is essentially my travel tripod.

Options were different when I bought, and I already had QR plates and receivers for a different Velbon system. So mine
is identical but for a slightly different top part of the ball head.
I've compared it in person to similarly folding travel tripods of other brands that MikeG and BobW have. On balance, I'd
still select this one, but they may wish to speak up. :-)
Leg angle and length are easily adjustable. Solid at your 3' height, quite usable at 5'. Adjustable height center
column. Amazingly small and light for packing. I have tripods from monster Manfrotto, through mid-level CFs from
Manfrotto and Hakuba(Velbon), tabletops from Manfrotto, Leica, Zeikos and others and GorillaPods.
This is for me the best I've found for balance between usefulness and
size/weight for air travel.
