I'm surprised the teacher doesn't just email the assignments to all students
or even have a web site with the info available.

Subject: [OM] Students and Out of Box Thinking
So, here is sit in the class. Teacher puts two assignments up on the screen.
Really long instructions. Students are writing down the information like
mad-men while he's still trying to talk. I sit there all relaxed without a
care in the world. Just listening and paying attention. When he's done
talking, I take my cellphone, walk up and snap a picture of the screen. I've
got everything I need--and even an OCR converter for the text if I so want
it.
Everybody stares at me like I'm some alien with three eyes. One by one, they
drop their pens and pencils down, grab their own cellphones and take
pictures too.
Just a nice, gentle reminder that laziness is the mother of invention.
