I didn't read the beginning as to why you are looking at Digikam. I had
DFigikam installed on my ubuntu machine but used very little because I
didn't have to devote to learnng it. I've also found Fotoxx for linux
machines and installed that. Haven't used fotoxx that much either but
what little I have used it it appears more intuitive for me.
