For now, I used the Event Viewer in the Administrator Tools. I found
that Google Update Service (gupdate) had been running, and there had been a
successful Remote Access Connection Manager event. I need to find out what
those are.
I stopped counting the instances of gupdate and gupdatem in the registry
when I got to 20. I have a feeling that I'm going to be busy manually editing
the registry once again.
I had purged my machines of anything having to do with Google months ago,
but I can see now that I did not get all of them. I'll bet that the Remote
Access Connection Manager activity has to do with this.
