Chuck .......... thank you for the response. Yes, indeed I had misread
the trailing S for a 5. These film holders are expensive. I have both of
the other carriers seen in the ebay ad; the glass carrier cost an arm
and a leg ten years ago! I am not so sure about sourcing from the
Ukraine. I wonder if there is any on-list experience about sourcing from
that country?
I do not know of anyone with a 3-D printer. With no size / measurement
specs on hand how might a 3-D printer produce a replica to within the
very finest of tolerances and be indistinguishable from the original?
Very curious!

I suggest you double check your part number. After looking on ebay I
have concluded that the correct number is FH-835S... easy enough to
mistake "S" for a "5". There is one on ebay for sale with that number
and a number of complete scanners for sale specifying that number for
the film strip holder. The film holder only sale is stated to be near
new condition, from Ukraine, priced at USD 495 + USD 59.85 for shipping.

Unfortunately, even rechecking Nikon with the correct part number ends
up finding it but still says it's discontinued and no longer available.
It sold for USD 97.50 when it was available

Know anyone with a 3-D printer?

The 35mm film strip carrier for my Nikon 9000 ED is showing signs of
aging. Nikon's product ID is FH-8355.
I am in need of a new one or "new to me" in excellent condition.
Nikon Canada no longer carries the product and a search of B+H's web
site turned up nothing.
Are there any recommendations as to alternative sources or does anyone
have one looking for a new home?
