One winter many years ago I bought a Texas Leica for myself as a Christmas
present. After a few days of sub-zero (F) temps and a generous helping of snow,
I spent a heart-hammering half hour or so climbing down the side of a steep
ravine to get some ice snaps of Muscongus Cove from the mouth of a frozen
brook. I shot one, maybe two rolls of film, climbed back out, sent the film to
a pro lab in California and got nothing back. Had neglected to take the lens
cap off. Wasn't the last time, either. The other thing it took me a while to
get the hang of remembering was to focus the damned thing. I don't know why I
thought that purely mechanical beastie came with mind controlled auto focus.
Sigh.
Sent from my iPhone 6s Plus. This is a perfect mobile device. Any perceived
errors in spelling, grammar, or logic are figments of your imagination.
