All OM-1/1N do this when the switch is off and shutter speed is turned
way down to B and lens is wide open. It is the spring loaded mechanical
part of the meter movement. Probably answered a half dozen times already.

Dear OM afficionads,
I have a question concerning the OM 1n:
I have one OM 1n where the exposure meter is locked, when the main
switch is turned to off.
I have another example, where it floats around and still measures, when
the switch is in off position.
How are yours ?
Was there any change in design ?
If it is not locked and this is a defect, is the cause complex or easy
to fix ?
With best wishes
