Thanks for commenting, Moose. This was shot around 1800 local time, so
the sun was setting and the light was soft. I went to ISO 400, using
Program Mode, to improve the shutter speed and aperture. Exposures like
that, with the E-1 usually have some noise. So, in post, I used FM to
sharpen, which usually increases the noise, then NI to tame the noise.
I sometimes come back for a little FM to finish, but decided not to with
this image.
I used the same process, as I recall, on the second image, but the light
was at a different angle. Sometimes, the results are better than other
times.
I have been cautioned, particularly on the OM list, about
over-sharpening my images, creating the hint of halos at the top of
objects. This has made me very cautious about my sharpening choices.
Maybe I need to go up a notch......... :-)

I'm not sure why the second image would not be ok. On my screen,
they are similar.
The first, like many recent images you've posted from both your E-1
and Fuji, is rather soft overall, with little fine detail. The second
is nicely focused and clear within the focal plane, so my eyes prefer it.
It's easy to like the composition of the first, though.
