Sonny Carter found a link that provided the solution. You must remove
McAfee Site Advisor from your computer. It is not compatible with Firefox.
I'd get rid of McAfee if they're not up to testing compatibility with
all the major browsers.

Has anyone else encountered this?
I sent a comment to Firefox, but have heard nothing from them.
I have not seen this with any other software other than Firefox.
I am running Windows 7 on a Dell desktop computer.
