Seems to me you may be confusing the utility of the end result with the utility
of the process.
I have zero interest in participating in such a project and my interest in the result would extend only to the pride and
enjoyment of some of my friends in having done it. Certainly I'd have no interest in having one.
Still, it does sound like a fun project for some on this list whose geekiness
runs in different channels than mine. :-)
