Landline phones are just so 20th century.
For longer outages, a deep cycle
battery and inverter keeps our toys powered.
Good point Brian.
So our last outage was 10 days. How many batteries would I need Ken??
OOps, never mind. Took out the cell towers too.
Another reason I keep a land line. About 1/3 of the island is covered by
towers either on nearby islands, the Olympic Peninsula or in Canada. So
when you dial 911 you don't want to hear, "Where are you located, aey?"
I happen to know the land line # for the dispatcher so I'll get a local
person but without the enhanced 911 functions.
A good thing about the remote towers is that during that last big outage
you could drive to spots with service.
