Only been done a couple of times, but cox can run diagnostics with the
battery in. But then Time Warner isn't exactly the gold standard.

The replacement was exactly the same model Motorola that I returned. That model has a backup battery but they wouldn't give me one with the replacement. They said they don't supply batteries anymore. It causes too much trouble because people can't shut down the modem when they're trying to run diagnostics. How it will perform in an outage is a quesstion for which there is no ansswer, but it's been sitting on what I only assume is a trickle charge for over three years, maybe more with someone else before me. But he good news is it also serves as a modem for my internet service, at no additional charge. -----Original Message----- From: Ken Norton Sent: Thursday, June 05, 2014 8:06 AM To: Olympus Camera Discussion Subject: Re: [OM] OT - Phising phone callsI'm with Mike on this one, but for a different reason. Whenever there;s a power cut, all the cordless landline phones in this house are useless. With my desk phone, the power comes down the phone line :-)I have our modem/router and a couple other doodads on a UPS. Takes care of that problem. The security cameras are all PoE so they stay alive during power outages too. For longer outages, a deep cycle battery and inverter keeps our toys powered.Personally, I object to having a transmitter ( cordless phone, cell-phone) so close to what brain I have left ... I'd rather not use one - that sort of phone, that is ... :-)It's all part of the upcoming zombie invasion. Your best bet is to be part of the first wave. Get it over with. -- _________________________________________________________________ Options: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/listinfo/olympus Archives: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/private/olympus/Themed Olympus Photo Exhibition: http://www.tope.nl/ -- _________________________________________________________________ Options: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/listinfo/olympus Archives: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/private/olympus/ Themed Olympus Photo Exhibition: http://www.tope.nl/ |
