As I've probably said before, the Staggerwing is not only the most
beautiful airplane ever made, but I rank it up there as among the most
beautiful man-made objects. Honestly, I can't think of anything that
tops it right now, but there have been a couple of Ferraris that come
close.
Granted, there is always an oil puddle under them, but that's par for
the course with radials.
Speaking of radials, I can't help but think how much horsepower we
would be able to get out of an equivalent sized 450HP engine with
today's engineering and technology.
