Do you really mean focusing? Or the rattly buzz of the IBIS? The E-M5, and new
PENs, do have an option to turn off IBIS
in favor of in-lens IS. However, the Panny primes don't have IS, so that option
isn't available. So my 20/1.7 and 14-42
Z rattle away just like my Olys.
If you turn off the IBIS, the noise goes away. :-)
Something, mostly the 5 way IBIS, I think, is a real battery eater. Even set up
with the LCD off and EVF only on when
looking through it, the E-M5 gets significantly less battery life than an
E-PM2, with the same sensor system, LCD on a
lot, as it's the only viewfinder, and the simpler PEN IBIS.
OTOH, the 5 way IBIS is really good.

All 1.7 does is allow use of the VF-4 plug in EVF. Hard to see the point. I
haven't bothered.
