Perhaps dealers are different where you live. Or, perhaps you purchased from
a small local guy that you trust and already have a relationship with, like
I have done twice. When I got a car from a regular dealer, it wasn't so
nice.

Just bought a new (to me) car. Watched the guy go through all the usual
routines. Smiled, nodded, accepted some things, rejected others. Reminded
myself that he has to make a living and pay the rent - and he can only do
that by paying someone quite a bit less than the car is worth and charging
me a little more than it's worth. That's OK with me. After all, he has
provided a service. Several in fact.
So why would we regard them as weasels when we haven't been quite careful
enough?
Next week - why I sympathise with real estate agents.
