Oh, I know it. However, he was using our Avid SC48, and he really doesn't
like it, and was insistent that it not be in the photo. His preference is
a PM5D, but we only have the M7CL, the SC48 or an old PM4000 and renting an
PM5D wasn't in the show budget.
It's just one of those things where I have to play the situation by ear.
He wasn't there yet when I had to leave to go mix my club, so my total
interaction when I came back before the photo consisted of introducing
myself as his camera guy, show him the preshow announcement on my iPod, and
then ask if I can take his photo. I didn't want to push - plus I'm
gradually getting my boss used to me wanting to take photos and I really
have to balance the "I'm just a part of the crew" with "And I'm also a
photographer". I believe he's seen my OM gallery, so he knows I at least
make the effort to be good, but each situation is different.
