I will keep that in mind. I originally wanted him in front of the
mixing console, but even though our console was one of the rider
choices, he really doesn't like it and didn't want to be photographed
with it.
Hopefully the next time, I'll have had the chance to spend a little more
time with the engineer and will feel more comfortable "directing" him.
For me, it's a delicate balance between being photographer, and being
part of the local crew. I don't want to do anything to make them
uncomfortable, since the show is the primary concern and I am, at that
point, a representative of the casino and not just Paul Braun, Photo Nerd.
But I agree with your points, and I'm sure some of it will come more
naturally as my comfort level shooting people raises up a bit.
