It is all true, and Westvleteren IS all it is cracked up to be. This beer
is simply the epitome of brewing.
I have been to Westvleteren a few times, but the place I got it most often
was Amsterdam, during the years I lived near there. There is a bar (Gollem
Bar) which has its employees drive down to Westvleteren once in a while a
bring some beer back. It would cost ?12 a bottle, so certainly not a daily
indulgence, but it was special.
