I've successfully modified an OM Varimagni to fit the E-series eyepiece frame.
You need to take off about half a millimetre, as I recall.
One could probably do it quite easily with careful use of a file; I used a
milling bit and a drill press with a cross-vice. Of course, if you have access
to a vertical mill, so much the better.
I think I even have some photos somewhere. I'll try to dig them up if anyone is
seriously interested.
End result is the OM Varimagni works great! I did a study of the various OM
macro lenses on the E-300 (http://www.biofos.com/cornucop/opage_1.html). It
doesn't show it in that study, but I used the OM Varimagni to do the shots.
