My reluctance is that sorting and searching in Lightroom using EXIF data
and keywords that I myself enter is a function that I don't need or
want. When I move images to the computer they go into folders which
have the following name convention
YYYY-MM-DD - Long descriptive name
In the vast majority of cases these are raw files. Within these folders
are other folders typically named
Converted (converted from raw, exposure and color balance adjusted
Selected
Prints
(and maybe some others)
Probably this substructure would not be required in Lightroom due to its
non-destructive editing but there are already tens of thousands of
images in this structure already there.
I can already find whatever I want pretty quickly just by searching the
folder names which contain as many keywords as I need. I can't locate a
specific image within the folder with this method but occasionally
scanning a couple of screens of thumbnails looking for something is much
easier that adding keywords to many thousands of existing images.
In a nutshell, Lightroom is trying to solve a problem that I don't have.
