I don't see the point of the G1X. It's not small enough to be really easy to
carry, zoom range is limited, and as Chris
pointed out, unlike all the 'real' G Series, even the A Series, it has poor
close-up, let alone macro. That was a shock
to me.
For me, it would be Canon S100 or G11/12. Of course, that's easy to say, as I
already have them, but perhaps the fact
that I still can recommend them after using them a lot is in their favor.
