Ah, this iPad thingie is useful, as well as attractive and entertaining. It's
getting a decent 3G connection out here in
the boonies - and passing it on as Wi-Fi to the netbook+ I'm writing on.
Jim's bee image loaded a little slow, but fine for the purpose.
Yes, I could simply access my various emails accounts through their web
interfaces via Safari on the iPad, but I'm
playing/learning and much prefer my usual Thunderbird email. As long as I need
the PC for dealing with images, I might
as well enjoy its other conveniences, like a real keyboard. :-)
Anybody know if there is yet a way to manage external drives on an iPad? I
don't need it for a short trip like this, a
retreat where I will take few shots. If I had a way to back-up files to the
external drive, I could possibly get along
on a longer trip with iPad alone. I can get an accessory camera connection kit
to get images on the iPad, but I'd like
to be able to get them off, too.

Cute!
(No commentary on image quality while viewing on various small computing
devices.)
