Well, yes, now I remember the Mode A & B stuff, which I also found on the forum.
My explanation from memory was messed up, though. Glad you found the real thing!
I probably got simple minded because the only lens I regularly use the adapter
on is fixed aperture. With the adapter
set to f5.6, so focus confirm will work, all I need to do is set the camera to
f8, and the lens is already at shooting
aperture. So simple!
