Not steel, it's clearly and obviously extruded, thus aluminum (I'll
disregard my spell-checker's protest and grant you the spelling with one
'I', since it's American aluminium).

I must register a protest here. I used "steel" in the generic sense as in
"metal". Steel could have been steel, iron, stainless, galvanized and
aluminum. :) Or plastic...
I was right, though, that it was a steel pipe used for a railing or fence.
