Hi Moose,
I think your conclusion is correct. However, the lifespan of some of our
squirrels is not too great, since they continue to climb over barriers and
short out the high line above the transformers. When the lights go out, I
look for the line fuse holder on the pole behind my house. It feeds a four
block branch line, and, if the holder is down and swinging, I call the power
company. Had one incident about a week ago.
