Thank you.
It will be less refurbishment and more like an all-new construction
where I move some of the furniture of the old house into the new one.
The trick will be knowing which stuff to move and what stuff to let
die. The stuff that gets moved will need to fit the purpose of the
site.
I'll be blunt. The purpose of the site will be to make money. Not for
Google, not for B&H, not for other companies that get free advertising
off us blogger sites, but to make money off of direct sale of
services.
Khen has been gone for a couple years now, so there is no requirement
for me to maintain the site to our original vision--he's free to do
whatever he wants with his Malaysian website of similar name. My site
has crossed the two million mark, so I'll keep some level of
continuity going--no need to completely start over anew and try to
build up a name all over again. A few items drive much of that
traffic, so no abandonment of what is working. I ain't stupid.
The new site will have a whole new layout making some of those
resources and articles much easier to find and better organized. Most
importantly, they will be there to showcase the real purpose of
Zone-10. To make money. I don't need this to be a hobby--I've already
got too many other hobbies I like to do more. I need it to pay bills.
I need it to pay for that 5D Mark III. I need it to pay for raising
two teenage daughters.
If this ends up scaring off a few people because it is turning into a
blatent commercial site, so be it. I appreciate the ad-clicks
everybody has done, but those haven't been paying the bills. It's
either redirect the effort or abandon it altogether. In the current
format, I'm done with it.
Oh, one other thing. As part of the refocusing, you will see a LOT
more OM content. I know that has you puzzled, but trust me on it.
