Chris:
Thinking back a bit more, the Lightnings may have been 1963 - which
would mean the Tigers (74 Sq). The markings of the Tigers and Firebirds
are quite similar, except for the colours. B&W doesn't help much there!
The official photographer got to be right in front of both the Corsair
and Mustang for the engine runs. Great pictures, with none of the
challenges of side lighting that most of us had.
The only unfortunate part was that both engines had been started, so
there was no smoke when they were restarted. Also little in the way of
flames out of the exhaust.
Next year, I'll be better prepared and placed.
