Interesting discussion regarding speed control. I was taught to trim to speed and use throttle to adjust glideslope. Basically, in this method you are using the stick for wing levelling. Essentially impossible to stall the aircraft this way. Of course the guy who taught me this was a missionary pilot who's main skillset was flying into impossibly short fields in jungles.
