Compare the size of the glaciers! (not the snow cover) Both cover area
and thickness. Not too subtle. Hugh losses with some glaciers totally
missing. And this is the center of the most glaciated region in the
lower 48. Total precip has been relatively stable or slightly higher
which is predicted by the models for this area. What has changed is the
form the precipitation takes / altitude, i.e. snow vs rain. A
compounding factor is the fact that the majority of the huge amount of
yearly precip (500cm+) is delivered by just a handful of weather events,
the Pineapple Express. Timing is crucial.
And this is just the last 30 years!
